| Through the joint efforts of the current and past Tunghai administrative cabinets and many other Tunghai colleagues, the Tunghai University Board of Directors recently approved the first stage of the capital development project of Tunghai's second teaching area (on the north side of the Tunghai Farm). New construction will include basic infrastructure, a new building for the College of Management, student resident halls, new faculty housing, a new Music Department building, a new Art Department building, an athletic field and retirement housing. The budget approved for these projects comes to more than 859 million NT dollars. Once this capital development project is completed, the second teaching area will become an important window to Taichung and the greater Taiwan community. With the expanded capabilities for development in the fields of management and the arts, greater access for the community to our extension programs, and further development of cooperative ventures in education, research and services, Tunghai University will reach a new height in the pursuit of excellence in higher education. |
